Welcome back to Spotlight on Service, where we highlight our team members who have been with us the longest, and who have exceeded every expectation along the way.
This month, we’d like to shine the spotlight on Mary Meraz, who’s been part of the Folding Guard family for twenty-three years. That’s a long commitment, and Mary has dedicated all twenty-three of those years to the Shipping Department, where she serves as the Shipping Traffic Coordinator. She says her proudest accomplishment is being so well-versed in the ins and outs of her job, as well as getting to know and work with so many different customers over the years. It is part of Mary’s job to set up the trucks for the orders that ship out daily. She also calls the customers to make sure they’re ready for the pickup. Another part of Mary’s job is liaising daily with multiple other departments around the plant to ensure timelines are being met, so Mary gets to know everyone around the office quite well.
Twenty-three years in, Mary still enjoys being the Shipping Traffic Coordinator here at Folding Guard, but she says that her fondest memories of the job are back when FG was located in downtown Chicago. We were a smaller company back then, and the hustle and bustle of the city added a certain energy to the work day. Today, we rely on dedicated team members like Mary to bring that energy with them, and they definitely deliver.
Mary’s life doesn’t revolve around work, however. She is most proud of her family: she has two children, ages twenty-three and thirty, and a granddaughter, age two. She is a great mother, a dedicated employee, and we couldn’t be prouder to count her among our Folding Guard family.
