The Cardenas Family – Finding Love at Folding Guard

Welcome to our Families at Folding Guard Blog Series! We’re so excited to have the opportunity to highlight all the fantastic families who work together at our company. Since today is Valentine’s Day, we wanted to focus on the Cardenas family – a couple who actually met thanks to Folding Guard!

Martin Cardenas is one of our longest-tenured employees here at Folding Guard, proudly serving our company for 31 years now. When Martin started with the company we were in a different location, which happened to be next to the laundromat where Ernestina was working. It was around that time that Martin and Ernestina met and fell in love. They married not long after in 1989!

After building their family together, Ernestina decided that she wanted to come and work at Folding Guard with Martin! Now another one of our long-term employees, Ernestina has been a proud member of the FG family for 16 years. Ernestina is very proud of Martin’s work ethic and presence at the Folding Guard plant, where he is the Supervisor of the production floor. She notes that “he helps everyone, he’s a good guy and everyone wants him on their team.” When asked what her favorite thing about Martin is, Ernestina says “He’s a good person, not just at work, but outside of work with our family.” She says that he has always provided their children with anything they needed.

Martin says that Ernestina, who is currently an acting Lead in the Fabrication department, is a good worker as well, and says that when the two of them are in charge everything goes well! When asked what Ernestina is like outside of work, Martin jokes that the likes to scold him.

We’re so glad Martin and Ernestina found each other at Folding Guard, and that they’ve chosen to grow with our company while building their lives and family together. Watch this spot for more spotlights on the amazing Families at Folding Guard!
